You definitely will not regret it.įor reference this is the exact part I purchased: įor the record I am not affiliated with parts-people in any way. I would encourage anybody else needing to do a screen replacement to spend the couple extra bucks to get the 4k touchscreen. It seems way brighter at max setting than the old screen and I think part of it has to do with the glossy finish the 4k screen has.

I've never had a touchscreen laptop until now and I absolutely love it. There is an extra connection you need to make for the touch screen on the mother board, but the instructions for this can be easily found in the Dell service manual. No BIOS or OS updates or anything was needed.
Dell xps 15 touch screen 1080p#
I decided to take a gamble and ordered the 4k touchscreen from parts-people for the instead of the 1080p which is what I had and am happy to report that both the 4k resolution and touchscreen worked perfectly as soon as I turned my laptop back on again after the repair. This screen was the 1080p HD version with no touchscreen.

I had tons of dead pixels on the bottom of the screen and the place where the hinge screws into the base was totally broken. I dropped my hard last year and messed up the screen and touchpad assembly. I could not find confirmation that this upgrade works and now that I have confirmed it does work I want to post this so other people considering the upgrade can have confidence when purchasing parts that it does work. Just wanted to put this on the internet for anybody else who is in the same spot I was.
